A New Year of Spreading out Roots 🌳

When I think about this in terms of moon phases, I imagine us two years ago as a New Moon, starting with just a sliver and a glimmer, full of hopes and potential. By summer, we achieved our first Fullness, with active Pride events, a vital community, and the illumination to look around and take an honest look at what we’d cultivated. It became clear to me that as much as we love Uptown, the location wasn’t conducive to our vision for the store, and we entered a waning phase to pull our energies back and explore our options. We harnessed that energy to relocate and relaunch, a New Moon in our second year, and experienced greater Fullness as we expanded our events model across this summer, hosting artists every weekend, and classes every week. We slowed again in the winter, as the days shortened and we conserved our energies, but as the days lengthen once more we are so excited to emerge with fresh ideas and new growth in 2026, including a return to being open 7 days a week!

We will celebrate our Longfellow Anniversary at the end of the month with special activities the weekend of January 31 and February 1! We are proud to host local artist Alberta Mirais as our first gallery artist, whose works will be up all month, and who will join us in person for the anniversary weekend, along with market favorite Sabra, providing energetic readings along with her handmade jewelry. And if you’d like a more personal experience, we will be hosting an Open House from 7-10pm on Friday January 30th with the goal of celebrating our growth with friends and family, artists and instructors, building relationships between everyone that has supported our vision for this community.

In the new year, we are making some adjustments to our weeknight events, shifting from classes to discussion groups with the goal of inviting collaborative conversations around intentional themes. Participants with all levels of experience and interest are invited to join, and these events will be free with the option to make donations to leaders for their energies and MoonStone for hosting. On Monday, January 19th we’ll be discussing Aquarius in our Astro group, and on Monday, January 26th we’ll be exploring fresh starts within tarot, examining The Fool and The Magician. Keep an eye on our google calendar and our instagram for the most current updates.
