Meet MoonStone MPLS - Southwest Voices Business Directory
Getting into the LBA business directory felt like something more than a listing. I had worked for businesses in this neighborhood for over a decade before I ever had my own. Sitting in a room with people I used to work for, realizing I was now their peer, was one of the stranger and more meaningful moments of this whole journey. Southwest Voices covered us that same fall, and it felt like a real welcome, not just a mention, and a huge surprise to see my face on the cover of this semi-annual resource!

Southwest Voices included MoonStone MPLS in the 2026 LBA/SCCA Business Directory under the "New to the Area" section, a recognition that matters to a shop that came to Longfellow with strong neighborhood roots.
Owner Brenna Wernersbach has been connected to Longfellow since 2013. Before opening MoonStone, they worked at Blue Moon Cafe, Geek Love Cafe within Moon Palace Books, and Milkweed. When MoonStone relocated from Uptown to 3304 East Lake Street in early 2025, it felt less like a business move and more like a return.
The shop aims to be inclusive to all perspectives and levels of experience, and to show how science and magic are compatible, not competing, paths to wellness. The product mix reflects that: natural gems, tarot and oracle decks, incense, candles, books on spirituality and nature, handmade work by local artists, and curiosities that invite people to look closer at the world around them.
The Southwest Voices feature closes with a direct note to neighbors about what it means to support local businesses. Spending 0 at a local shop keeps rent paid, groceries stocked, and the business alive in the community. Small businesses need neighbors who show up, share them with friends, and recognize that the presence of shops like MoonStone is not guaranteed.
MoonStone MPLS is located at 3304 East Lake Street in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. Open Monday through Thursday 3 to 7 PM, Friday through Sunday 12 to 7 PM.

Being featured as part of what Redesign is building on East Lake Street felt like being officially counted among the people who belong here. This one meant a lot.

I moved to Longfellow in 2013. I worked at Blue Moon, at Milkweed, at Geek Love Cafe inside Moon Palace. These are the businesses I grew up in as a retail person, and the neighbors I made became some of my closest relationships. When I found the space at 3304 East Lake, it did not feel like a business decision. It felt like going home. Longfellow Whatever covered the move before we even had the keys, and reading it back now, I remember exactly how it felt to finally be able to say: we are coming to East Lake Street.
